A year after ICCU first opened its doors in 1940, we had just one branch, 22 members and $298.93 in assets. Hard to believe, we know. Back then, our membership<\/a> included only employees of other credit unions since, at the time, they weren\u2019t allowed to bank at the credit union where they worked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, 85 years later, we have over 60 branches; 650,000 members; and $12 billion in assets. Our membership has grown to include residents throughout Pacific Northwest, where we are ranked as #1 in the region for member giveback and a Best Place to Work in Idaho for 13 years straight.* We\u2019ve invested in our communities, and they\u2019ve invested in us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This incredible journey is possible because of our members\u2019 trust, our communities\u2019 steady support, and a fierce dedication to growth. Year after year we expand, not only to serve more members but to serve them better<\/em>. With each new branch, product, and service, we give members opportunities for growth in their own personal finances. And we\u2019re not stopping anytime soon.<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re thrilled to announce that we\u2019re expanding our footprint to include Tucson, Arizona and Tri-Cities, Washington. To be more inclusive of our ever-growing membership, we\u2019re also refreshing our logo<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Grow Now?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As a credit union, we\u2019re not focused on growth for the sake of profits (in fact, we\u2019re a not-for-profit organization<\/a>). We grow with purpose. With you<\/em>, the member, in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re expanding because our stable foundation in the Pacific Northwest has primed us to help more people throughout the West. It makes financial sense to diversify our markets, but more importantly, this expansion fulfills our core values. We want to be there for as many people as we can, and we know that by expanding into these new markets, we can provide bigger and better opportunities \u2014 both in personal finance and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Tucson?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As of February 2025, the existing credit union TOPCU<\/a> will merge with us, adding two new branches and over 17,000 members to the ICCU family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tucson, Arizona truly is the perfect fit for a credit union like ours. Both TOPCU and Tucson itself represent the culture of caring that we ourselves support. As Vern Babilon, CEO of TOPCU, likes to say, \u201cTucson is the biggest small town I\u2019ve ever encountered.\u201d It may have nearly 550,000 residents, yet people are often surprised to find that everyone knows everyone. We love that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tucson is known for its resilience and opportunity. It\u2019s a vibrant city with a unique culture and deep community ties. Tucson communities are tight-knit and people-focused, just like our communities in Idaho and Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TOPCU has been a part of the city for decades, and we\u2019re excited to build on their foundation and local trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Tri-Cities?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve long supported the Pacific Northwest. Idaho and its neighbors are our home, and we\u2019ve invested in Washington members with just as much heart as we have our Idaho home base. Spokane welcomed us with open arms in 2022, and we\u2019re pleased to say the Tri-Cities area will soon join our communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By diversifying our markets and developing further into Washington, we\u2019re positioned to welcome new members while enhancing the banking experience for current ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Will These Changes Happen?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With big projects like these, it\u2019s hard to definitively say when everything will be complete, but we expect to establish ourselves in Tri-Cities and Tucson before the end of 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From there we\u2019ll focus on deepening our roots, earning the trust of locals by providing unbeatable service and investing in their cities the same way we\u2019ve invested in yours. Meanwhile, we\u2019ll be hard at work ensuring our current members, wherever they live, are taken care of with the same efficiency and enthusiasm as always.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
