It\u2019s funny, when most employers ask why someone wants to work for them, the first answer that runs through most people\u2019s minds is as simple as this: a paycheck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But if you\u2019re ready to raise the bar and find a job that offers not only the need-to-haves (insurance, stability, that sort of thing) but the nice-to-haves like culture, purpose, and a chance to grow, then you\u2019re in the right place. Of course, we\u2019re not just going to let you stagger through the application process blind. Here\u2019s what you can expect as you navigate your way from the application to that first-day handshake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Find a position that matches your goals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First thing\u2019s first: Visit our careers page<\/a> and choose your region to see what openings are available in your area. Scroll through the job listings to see which fits you best. We offer a range of positions: customer-facing tellers, commission-based loan officers, back-office administrators, and much more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be easiest to pick a position if you already have an idea of the type of career you\u2019d like to pursue. Even if you\u2019re not sure which specific job will be the best match, knowing your personal preferences can help you narrow down your choices. Say, for example, you know you won\u2019t thrive in a desk job. A Community Development or Facilities position, among others, might be a good fit because it requires time outside in our communities or on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finesse your resume and application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the application world, you\u2019re the best (and often only) person who can advocate for your career growth. Your resume is a one-page glimpse into who you are as a professional, and the more accurate and thought-out it is, the better off you\u2019ll be when applying for an ICCU job. Once you\u2019ve nailed down a position or two you\u2019d like to apply for, polish your resume to make sure it reflects both your current accomplishments and the requirements of the position you\u2019re hoping to land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We ask that you create an online profile, then submit a resume and online application. Your profile lists your basic information, which is saved in our database so returning candidates can view their past applications and current job statuses. If you\u2019ve previously applied and your circumstances have changed, make sure your profile reflects your current resume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take our recruiting assessment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At ICCU, we\u2019re big believers that a team member thrives when given opportunities to develop their existing skillset. We use our recruiting assessment to see if an applicant\u2019s top skills are a good fit for the job they\u2019re applying for; that way, employees are set up for success before they even begin their first day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s vital that you answer each question as honestly as possible. When you take the assessment, give yourself the privacy and time you need to fill out the questionnaire thoroughly. And don\u2019t stress! There are no wrong answers; we\u2019re simply asking you about your personal preferences and skillset in the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interview with the position\u2019s hiring manager.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once you\u2019ve submitted your application, resume, and assessment, our recruiters will send your information to the hiring manager. If the manager decides you\u2019re a good potential fit, the recruiting team will follow up with you via phone call or email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Typically, we respond to applications within 7-10 business days, but response time varies based on how many people have applied and how urgently the position must be filled. If you\u2019re offered the job, you\u2019ll move onto the next phase of the hiring process, the background check. If at any point you\u2019re no longer considered for that position, we\u2019ll let you know that we\u2019re proceeding with other applicants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you get an interview, keep these tips in mind:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
